I am the current Orchestra Director for Oakwood City Schools where we have collaborated with both the Miami University Symphony Orchestra and the University of Dayton Symphony Orchestra in performances. I have taken the orchestra to their first State Orchestra competition in 10 years receiving excellent ratings. In college, I performed with the Miami University Symphony orchestra in Carnegie Hall 2012, Performed in an Honors Quartet at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame 2013, Soloist with the Miami University Men's Glee Club performing on Violin, and was Co-Concertmaster and President of the Miami University Symphony Orchestra.
I strongly believe in building a solid foundation with both instrument hold and ear training through the use of scales and exercises in combination with solo pieces that match the students technical ability. When choosing music to work on, I want the student to be able to play both something that they find very enjoyable while also exploring other works that enhance their ability. We will start with producing a good sound and progress gradually from there with performance opportunities throughout the year.
